This Friday, August 1, UpSpring Baby’s Milkscreen will be taking part in Austin’s World Breastfeeding Day celebration at City Hall from 11am until 1pm. We are thrilled to be a part of this event to highlight Austin’s breastfeeding resources and launch the City of Austin WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) Program’s new breastfeeding awareness campaign, “I breastfeed because …”. The campaign includes interactive public response boxes about breastfeeding experiences, advertising on Capitol Metro buses, and free breastfeeding classes at Little Walnut, Southeast Austin Community, Carver, and Ruiz Branch Libraries.

Show your support and make plans to stop by on Friday. There will be free ice cream and lemonade as well as lots of giveaways and door prizes. Live entertainment will also be provided on site and free “Keep Austin Breastfeeding” t-shirts!
Julie Jumonville, the inventor of Milkscreen, will actually be at the event with me so we hope to see you there!
